David W.S. Hammond, 41, of Red Hook, NY, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY.
For many years, David worked as a self employed painting contractor throughout the Northern Dutchess region and previously worked as a long haul truck driver.
He served in the United States Navy.
Born on August 8, 1968, in Hudson, NY, he was predeceased by his mother; Elaine (Sterrey) Hapeman, his adopted parents; William and Betty Hammond, his wife; Charlene Coon-Hammond, and a brother; Ryan Hapeman.
He is survived by his loving daughter; Victoria Hammond of Red Hook, NY, his fiancé; Jeannette Mondello of Red Hook, NY, two brothers; Scott & Brad Hapeman, and his maternal grandparents; Richard & Eleanor Steerey of Hudson, NY.
He is also survived by his adopted brothers and sisters, extended family and adopted extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, Red Hook, NY. The Pastor Don Moore of the Living Word Chapel will officiate. Burial will be at St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery, Red Hook.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Friday morning from 10 - 11 AM.
